Dick worked for twelve years as a civil engineer with the California Division of Highways, the County of Kern, and the County of San Diego before becoming an attorney. Dick has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and obtained his Doctorate of Law degree from the University of San Diego while working full time as an engineer and helping raise a family.
Dick has practiced law for over 30 years with a recognized expertise in eminent domain, inverse condemnation, real property law, and construction defects litigation. Dick has been the attorney of record in 13 published opinions. He was the lead attorney in City of Carlsbad v. Rudvalis (2003) 109 Cal.App.4th 667, which established precedent throughout California.
Dick was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. He and his wife are avid western horse riders and live in the North County beach area. Dick is actively registered as a civil engineer and utilizes his professional experience on a daily basis in applying the law.
